Andria Crescioni, founder of her accessories label, Crescioni, and Chris Hutton, a screenplay writer, met in high school— he was a sophomore and she was a freshman. “It’s hard to believe we’ve known each other for more than half of our lives,” Andria says. After dating on-and-off in high school and college, they kept finding their way back throughout early adulthood. “We spent time in New York and Paris together during college, and after a year of living in Peru, I decided to move home to Los Angeles, and we got our own place.” After five years of living together, and adding a sweet dog named Arrow to the mix, he got down on one knee by the Chandelier Tree (a local tree that has vintage chandeliers hanging from its branches) in Silverlake with a Satomi Kawakita ring they’d picked out together.
A year before their wedding, the couple visited the boutique hotel Verana, in Yelapa, Mexico, and fell in love with its serene beauty and incredible staff. Once engaged, they thought it’d be the most memorable place for their wedding and planned the whole weekend with Chantal from the venue.
Since Andria’s aesthetic is very organic and easy, she knew she didn’t want to wear something too formal or bridal down the aisle. She fell in love with the designer Cortana and chose a pleated, silk wrap dress. “I felt so much like myself on our wedding day which was something that was really important to me,” she says. For the entire weekend, the bride wore independent designers that she loves (Jacquemus, Aurora Vestita, A La Robe, and Loq) and even designed a few jewelry pieces to wear.
On December 2, 2018, overlooking the water, the bride walked down the aisle with her father, while a twelve-piece mariachi band, which had hiked up the mountainside, played. Then the officiant started the ceremony off with a moment of quiet meditation, allowing everyone to center themselves and get in touch with their beautiful surroundings. Then, the couple recited personal vows to each other in front of family and friends.
A short walk away from the ceremony, canapés and cocktails were waiting for everyone post-service. And after the seated dinner reception, the local DJ from town played music from the couple’s pre-curated playlist, along with some of his favorites mixed in.
The newlyweds had their first dance to “Thirteen” by Big Star— “fitting, since we’ve known each other since about that age,” Andria says. The night continued with dancing and mezcal for hours.
