It was a big week for Houston Astros’ pitcher Justin Verlander. On Wednesday, his team became the best in baseball when they clinched the World Series Championship in game 7 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. A little over 72 hours later, he said “I do” to his super model bride, Kate Upton, in an intimate ceremony in Italy. The bride, who was a super fan throughout the season, and even rushed the field for a big smooch when Verlander’s team took home the title, wore a white Valentino dress with lace sleeves for her wedding in Tuscany.

Upton and Verlander announced their engagement in 2016 at the Met Galaa—a.k.a. the fashion world’s party of the year. There, the model turned up on the red carpet with a custom designed sparkler from jeweler Anita Ko on her ring finger. Early on during the planning process, in a “Supermodels they’re just like us” moment, she told fans that her wedding priorities were: “fun, party, tequila, and food.” She enlisted wedding planner and designer Lisa Vorce, the woman behind Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s unforgettable wedding at Lake Como back in 2013, so we’re pretty sure she got all four. Congrats to the happy couple!
