WeWoreWhat COO Moe Paretti and Drew Simmons, owner of a manufacturing company, first met at a nightclub in Miami while on separate trips with friends. After five years together, Drew proposed at Mint Santa Teresa in Costa Rica, a special place for the two. When they returned from the beach one day, Moe found their room decorated with flowers and candles and Drew on one knee.

As Drew grew up going to the Country Club of Charleston, and now the two are now members, it was an easy choice to host their wedding there. “We picked it because with Charleston being such a popular wedding town, we knew there are few weddings done at the country club,” Moe explains. “We are very minimalistic people and really like a clean and neutral aesthetic. Nothing about our wedding was over the top; it was elegant and felt very ‘us.’ Everything was white with a touch of charcoal grey.”

To help bring their spring wedding to life, the two hired Pinnacle Weddings. And SAS-E Ink set the tone for the day with a beautiful invitation suite.

Moe has known for years that she wanted to wear a long-sleeve, high-neck dress down the aisle, and when the day came, she did exactly that. Her custom Dana Harel dress from Mark Ingram Atelier was styled with Gianvito Rossi heels. Together with Dana herself, they added a subtle corset to the design to give it a slight edge.

On the day-of, Moe got ready with makeup artist Chelsea Shea and hairstylist Patrick Navarro, who gave the bride a natural beauty look with a wispy low bun. During the ceremony, she wore a pair of drop earrings by Nicole Rose and her sister-in-law’s sapphire ring to serve as both her “something borrowed” and “something blue.”

Drew looked handsome in a Tom Ford tuxedo with Hermes cufflinks and black Del Toro slippers.

On June 3, 2023, guests gathered at the 10th hole on the golf course. Moe walked down the aisle, lined with baby’s breath by Moonlight Iris Designs, as a strings trio from Charleston Virtuosi played. “We had our good friend, Bill, officiate because he was there the night we met, and he is one of Drew’s best friends from college,” the bride shares. “I could not stop crying during my vows but overall was just so happy.”

Once announced as married, the sit-down dinner of filet mignon, salmon, or stuffed mushrooms was served. Dessert consisted of two wedding cakes by Flowerchild—one was vegan for the bride—and heartfelt speeches by the parents of the newlyweds were given.

The buzzing fête began in another room with DJ Jason Wiggz. Moe and Drew took to the dance floor for their first dance to the acoustic version of “First Time” by Seven Lions, Slander, and Dabin (feat. Dylan Matthew). The electric violinist, Seth G, only elevated the party further.

After a while, Moe changed into her second look—a custom minidress by Lauren Gabrielson with crystal sleeves. And in a magic moment, she and Drew poured three magnums of vintage Dom Perignon rosé over their Champagne tower.

After dancing the night away at the country club, busses brought everyone downtown to the literal club—the couple’s favorite spot, Trio. Moe recalls, “There must’ve been 80 of our closest friends in the club!”

The newlyweds are headed to Florence, Capri, and Ischia in July for a whirlwind, romantic honeymoon.
