What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

The Margaux for Over The Moon capsule shoe collection has arrived and features a whimsical floral print by artist Riley Sheehey. The limited-edition assortment includes a ballet flat, block heeled sandal, and a platform style in ivory and blue satin—perfect for a wedding weekend and beyond. To celebrate this highly-anticipated launch, we’re looking back at Margaux Co-Founder Alexa Buckley’s dreamy 2023 wedding in Paris, and she’s sharing what’s on her Over The Moon Registry.

Alexa and Alexandre Roussel first met over text message in 2020 when she attended her friend’s engagement party, hosted by his stepmother, Tory Burch. As she was leaving, Tory told her she had to connect with her stepson. One night a few weeks later, Alex texted Alexa. “He was totally untraceable online—and a Frenchman!—so I had no idea what to expect,” she shares. “It was also the exact day the lockdown began.” What followed was an online courtship over letter-length texts and eventually FaceTime dates. They finally had their first in-person meeting on the West Side Highway over a bottle of wine and a makeshift cheese plate.

After two years together, Alex proposed in the Musée Rodin in Paris—their favorite place in the City of Love—and they began planning their summer destination wedding.

On September 23, 2023, Alexa walked down the aisle of the Basilique Sainte-Clotilde in a Carolina Herrera dress, and after the couple exchanged their vows they exited the church to a whirlwind of confetti. After the ceremony, guests moved to the Muzée Rodin—the exact same place where Alexa and Alex had gotten engaged—for cocktails, dinner, and dancing.

Today, Alexa and Alex live in their recently renovated West Village apartment. “I loved the process—because it really is a process! And a journey we have still yet to fully finish,” she shares. “I like to start with a color or pattern that I’m excited about, whether it’s a rug, a fabric, a wall color, or the perfect shade for a kitchen cabinet. From there, I really enjoyed building a world around it.”

The Margaux co-founder describes her personal aesthetic as “classic with a twist.” “I love color, I love pattern, but I also try to pick things that I want to live with for a really, really long time—if not forever,” Alexa says. With that old world ethos top of mind, Cabana was a clear favorite tabletop brand of Alexa’s and several pieces were added to her Dream Registry. “From their speckled collection to their beautiful Murano glass, they do such a beautiful job with color,” Alexa explains. “Their pieces are among our most-used at home.”

Alexa also loves Material Kitchen’s assortment—especially The Good Shears. “Their founder, Eunice, is a dear friend,” she shares. “They make the highest quality products, and I cannot recommend these kitchen shears enough.”

For a little fun and games, Alexa chose a Magnetic Midnight Backgammon Board. “It is a favorite,” she smiles. “My husband and I love playing on the weekends or when we travel, and this set is gorgeous.”

And last but certainly not least, no dream registry would be complete in Alexa’s eyes without a pair—or two—of shoes from the Margaux for Over The Moon capsule, and we couldn’t agree more.
