Nearly five years after Drew Davala offered to buy Shannon Foley a drink at a bar in New York City, he proposed on a weekend away in Malibu. “He bent down on one knee on the beach—I was completely shocked,” Shannon recalls. “We spent the night at the Malibu Beach Inn and went to Nobu for dinner. It was perfect.”

“I’ve been summering out in the Hamptons for 15 years, so I knew I wanted to get married out there. I wanted a sophisticated black tie wedding that overlooked the beach,” she explains. “When we came across the Bridgehampton Club, I knew I could execute this vision. I wanted to also incorporate a European coastal theme with elements from Sunset Beach and St. Barths.” Claire Bean Events assisted Shannon in all of the planning, and Allan Zepeda lensed every special moment. Li Ward crafted a custom invitation suite detailed with blues and beaches in keeping with the coastal aesthetic.

Over The Moon Styling curated a lineup of wedding weekend looks for the bride. For the Thursday church ceremony, she wanted a sophisticated look that fit the classic occasion—a The Vampire’s Wife dress paired with Valentino platform heels.

“I knew I didn’t want to wear white and was looking to stand out by wearing a fun, vibrant color since I knew the next day I would be wearing a lot of white,” Shannon shares of her rehearsal dinner dress. “I ended up going with an Oscar de la Renta hot pink floral dress with lime green Aquazurra heels.” Drew looked handsome in a green blazer from Suitsupply and Sabahs of the same color.

The bride chose the first wedding dress she ever tried on. “I cried when I put it on, and I was overcome with emotion. I loved the elegance of the soft lace and the beautiful train,” Shannon notes. The Monique Lhuillier look was complete with diamond earrings borrowed from Stephanie Gottlieb. And on the day-of, Stephanie Perez applied Shannon’s makeup, while Vanessa Alcala styled her hair.

“At the reception, I changed into an Alex Perry dress for dinner and dancing—with the help of designer Patty Voto of One/Of, we sourced a fun sequin lace to add into the cutouts of the Alex Perry dress. It came together perfectly,” Shannon explains. She danced the night away in a custom One/Of sequin minidress at the after-party.

On September 10, 2022, 10 sweet flower girls and ring bearers—the bride’s nieces and nephews—introduced Shannon before she walked down the aisle with her father as “Here Comes The Sun” played. The bride and groom exchanged vows beneath a beautiful floral arch by Winston Flowers. The two sealed it all with a kiss and walked back down the aisle, as everyone happily tossed white flower petals on the newlyweds.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered under a softly lit tent and sat for a Sterling Affair dinner amidst bright bouquets and pastel menus. Loved ones gave thoughtful toasts and the two football-obsessed fathers exchanged Patriots and Giants jerseys, their own special way of comically recognizing the joining of their families—“They had us crying and laughing,” the bride recalls.

Then the newlyweds danced to Zac Brown Band’s “Loving You Easy.” “We had a choreographed dance that we practiced over and over again for a month and we nailed it!” Shannon says of her favorite reception moment. Afterward, The Starlight Orchestra welcomed everyone to the dance floor with a lively performance featuring several outfit changes.

The bride and groom cut their floral wedding cake, then Drew hit the dance floor and Shannon featured her second look. The party went on all night long and eventually ended up at The Clubhouse in East Hampton. The next day, the newlyweds took off and spent the following weeks exploring Dubai, Tanzania, and the Maldives.
