Billie Eilish brought model and actress Zarina Yeva and Michael Miskinnis, who is in the oil business, together. Zarina’s friend invited her to the singer’s concert only an hour before it started and offered to pick her up. In the car was Michael. Days later, they had their first official date, and they jokingly put their wedding date in their calendars.
10 months later, Michael proposed in Malibu with a huge bouquet of red roses and Zarina’s dream engagement ring. Then, they put the plan in motion for a destination autumn wedding in Sayulita, Mexico, where Michael owns a home—the spot of their first vacation together. Amor Boutique Hotel, overlooking the town, hosted the couple and their guests.
Karen Ruezga of Playa Secreta brought their vision to life, while famous fashion photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, Natasha Gillett, and Guillermo Munoz lensed the whole weekend. Courtney Kibby set the tone with a whimsical invitation suite.
The night before exchanging rings, Zarina wore a custom Michael Costello dress, hand-sewn by the designer himself. “My stylist surprised me with a FaceTime call, and there he was, sharing his vision—a white Chantilly lace and silk gown with intricate beading at the hip and a dramatic lace train,” Zarina shares. “It felt destined, especially since I had walked in Michael’s runway show before. The moment I saw it, I knew it had to be the first dress my loved ones saw me in.”
For the rehearsal dinner, the bride chose Pronovias’s Sting mini dress with a sweetheart neckline in mikado silk. “It was effortlessly chic and perfect for dancing the night away with friends and family,” she shares.
Zarina wore the Maely from the Vera Wang Bride x Pronovias 2025 Collection down the aisle with Louboutins. It happened to be the first (and only) dress she tried on. “The black satin bodice contrasted with layers of nude and cream tulle, embodying modern elegance and daring sophistication,” she shares. “A delicate black tulle bow cinched the waist, adding an avant-garde yet romantic touch.” Makeup artist Petra Dianova and hairstylist Gabriela Medina made the bride feel like the best version of herself.
That evening, Zarina changed into the Angelic mermaid style by Atelier Pronovias. Her second-to-last look was by Ese Azenabor Couture, followed by the Netta BenShabu Mercury mini, featuring Swarovski crystals. “Each of these six gowns captured a different facet of who I am, making our wedding celebration feel like a living dream—one I got to experience in every shade of elegance, power, and romance,” she states. Bee Goddess supplied all the jewelry, while Dior Beauty created stunning and natural looks.
Michael looked handsome in a Huntsman velvet shawl collar, single-breasted dinner suit, inspired by the refined tailoring in the Kingsman movies—filmed at Huntsman’s Savile Row location. For the reception, he changed into an off-white jacket by Suitsupply, crafted from Italian wool, and a Zegna white silk bow tie.
On November 8, 2024, in the Kissing Garden, Zarina and Michael wed amongst a sea of white florals by Flora Amor that matched the dress code. “In a departure from tradition, we invited our guests to dress in white, creating a serene and unified atmosphere,” the bride explains.
The service was equally as magical. “I was overwhelmed—with joy, with love, with the kind of excitement that brings tears to your eyes,” Zarina says of the ceremony. “It felt like my heart was glowing from the inside out.”
The reception began in the Grand Villa with local Mexican cuisine. The mothers of the couple both shared heartfelt words. Then, the band, Sunset Station, lit up the night with a high-energy performance. “The music was electric,” Zarina recalls. “Everyone was dancing, barefoot in the sand, smiling, laughing, just living in the moment.”
Fireworks formally ended the unforgettable night, but things continued in the city at Playa. “We danced, surrounded by friends, music, and that electric feeling of joy that only comes after something truly unforgettable,” Zarina shares. “It was spontaneous, wild, and full of life—exactly how we wanted to end the night.”
