We talked to Jennifer Behr herself to ask her all about the new collection, including, yes, which piece is her favorite. . .
How did the OTM x JB Collaboration come to be?
We’ve worked with Over the Moon for years and the site is an inspiring partner for beautiful wedding content and a dreamy selection of bridal and fashion pieces. We were excited to work together to design something special for the holiday season.
What is most unique about this collection?
The pieces in this collection are hand-stitched from vintage ribbons. The ribbons were all hand woven in France. The detail on the ribbons is extraordinarily special, and we were so excited to work with these materials. As with all of our bows, every one is also handmade by our team of female artisans in our Brooklyn studio.
Do you have a favorite piece?
They’re all so special, but I would have to say the Blaire Bow is my favorite. It is such a classic pattern that feels super vintage. We also added a layer of satin to add some movement and bring more dimension to a classic plaid.
Where do you find inspiration?
I really take inspiration from so many different places and things. Vintage fashion, art, nature – these are all things that motivate me to design. Travel is a constant source of inspiration. We go to Paris for Fashion Week three times a year and this collection in particular was inspired by the Parisian aesthetic and vintage French ribbons I’ve collected over the years.
What are you most looking forward to this holiday season?
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is hosting a large party for close friends, which I have been doing for years. After the last few years of not being able to have big get-togethers, it is even more special to me. I love any opportunity to get dressed up and celebrate with loved ones.
And last but not least, any tips for how best to approach accessorizing during the holidays?
For me, the holidays are the time to be the most glamorous version of yourself. It can be a time to try something that might be a little out of your usual comfort zone. Use a fancy party as an opportunity to wear a bigger earring or add some sparkle. Our holiday collections are always filled with amazing embroideries and crystal earrings that are so fun to wear.
