Our Favorite Bridal Looks from Couture Spring 2017

Couture is what fashion fantasy is made of, and the Spring 2017 season was no different, except that more than ever we needed an opportunity to take a break from following the headlines on Facebook and Twitter and instead indulge in something beautiful. There were goddesses in Greek sandals at Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Valentino, mirrored sparkles and ostrich feathers at Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel—but perhaps the most telling of the times was Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut couture collection for Dior. She turned the runway into a garden complete with an overgrown hedge maze—a metaphor for her own career as she tries to find her footing at her new fashion house. There were lots of nymphs in lacey ball gowns, and while Italian references and Dior symbols were heavy, the title of a favorite book—Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil—came to mind, which feels as applicable a reference as any during these tumultuous times. OK, OK, we’ll try not to get so dark . . . this is a wedding website after all. So engage in a little escapism and check out what we think is the best bridal inspiration to come out of Couture Spring 2017.
