My Big Fat Wedding, Runaway Bride, Wedding Crashers. All of these classic romantic comedies were released smack in the middle of summer as a relief to overheated viewers who just wanted a little escapism (and AC) at the movies. Now much to our delight, the latest treat in the summer wedding canon, Crazy Rich Asians, premieres today in theaters and it’s exactly what we’ve been waiting for all season.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, Crazy Rich Asians tells the story of Rachel Chu (played by Constance Wu), who is head over heels for her boyfriend Nick Young (Henry Golding). After dating for a year, Nick invites Rachel to his best friend’s wedding in his hometown of Singapore, where she is set to finally meet his family. Once there, Rachel realizes her boyfriend is actually the heir to one of the richest families in the country, resulting in more than a few hijinks and roadblocks in their relationship. Let’s just say, she has quite the mother-in-law.

Aside from being the first American movie to feature an all-Asian cast in 25 years (the last film to do so was 1993’s excellent Joy Luck Club), Crazy Rich Asians is also quickly earning rave reviews. The New York Times called it “a party with a first-rate guest list” and “an unabashed celebration of luxury and money,” (which, if you ask us, is everything we look forward to at a wedding), and it currently has a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

If that’s not enough to sell you on the movie, perhaps the fun trailer below, filled with high fashion, incredible interiors, and zingy one liners will do it for you. “You really should’ve told me you’re like the Prince William of Asia,” Rachel tells Nick after finding out the truth behind his lineage. “That’s ridiculous—I’m much more of a Harry.” Who can resist?
