Everyone knows Meghan Markle and her mother, Doria Ragland, are close. Not only was Ragland the only family member that Markle invited to her May wedding to Prince Harry, she also reportedly wanted her mom to walk her down the aisle. (She ended up doing the walk by herself after her father backed out of the ceremony.)
It’s been less than a year since Markle moved to the UK, but it already seems like their long distance relationship (Markle is in London, while Ragland lives in Los Angeles) has proven to be too difficult to bear—there’s a eight-hour time difference after all! According to the Express, Meghan’s mom has reportedly decided to move to London to be closer to her daughter, and might be jumping across the pond just in time for her 62nd birthday next month. (Many are speculating her decision might also be a preemptive move to be closer to her future grandkids.)
Regardless of the motives behind Ragland’s transcontinental move, the news is a breath of fresh air when compared to the recent string of headlines (and headaches) Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, has been providing non stop. In his latest, and supposedly last, interview, Markel admitted he hung up on Prince Harry, after he chastised him for cooperating with paparazzi on some photos before the royal wedding. In contrast, her mother Doria has never spoken to the press. Just one more reason to have her closer.
