The 6 Trends We Saw at the 2023 New York Bridal Fashion Week

By Cathleen Freedman

Searching for your ‘something new?’ We attended New York Bridal Fashion Week (NYBFW) so you don’t have to. Twice a year, the best designers in bridal showcase future collections. If you’d like to what to expect in ateliers next year, Over The Moon’s Shayna Seid took thorough notes while seeing the latest dresses from AMSALE, Halfpenny, Galia Lahav, Alexandra Grecco, Francesca Miranda, and more. Without further ado and before you say ‘I do,’ let’s recap the six biggest trends for 2024 brides.

1. Bows

Take a bow, brides. At once feminine and sophisticated, these accents were present at nearly every designer’s presentation this season. No one is immune to the charm of a good bow.

2. Mini-Dresses

This bridal season is all about keeping things short and sweet—right down to the dress. We also believe in the transformative power of the Little White Dress.

3. Removable Sleeves, Trains, and Overskirts

Take a spin in a convertible—dress. Instead of a complete outfit change in the middle of the night, designers like AMSALE and Monique Lhuillier anticipate brides will want a two-in-one outfit with elements that can be thrown on or off throughout their wedding day.

4. Bold Florals

Spring isn’t here, but for 2024 brides, it’s definitely near. Bold flowers distinguished the Honor, Alexandra Grecco, AMSALE, and Monique Lhuillier shows.

5. Corseted Bodices

That cinched corset look is just so classic and flattering. Perhaps we have Barbara Palvin and her Vivienne Westwood dress at her 2023 wedding to Cole Sprouse to thank for the full-fledged return of the bridal corset. . .

6. Green Accents

Never underestimate the power of a color accent. Mint green seems to be a recurring theme, as seen in AMSALE and Monique Lhuillier’s latest collections.
