Vera Wang’s Fall 2019 Bridal Collection

“[Today’s bride] is fashion-forward. Freer. Less apologetic, now more than ever,” Vera Wang said to Vogue.com.  That rock ’n’ roll attitude is front in center in Wang’s latest collection, where her brides pair their dresses with thorny crowns, colorful velvet bows, and black high heeled booties.

Wang is no stranger to finding inspiration in the most elaborate of places, and this season it’s no different, as she drew from the grand and gilded façades of Versailles for her fall 2019 bridal collection. Her new fifteen looks featured dramatic Elizabethan-necklines made of tulle, metallic lace threaded in gold and silver tones, and exaggerated puffy sleeves that lent a regal air to an otherwise simple silk column dress. One of her more inventive gowns was a sheer pastel blue tulle dress worn over an embellished bra finished off with a long, black bow tied over one shoulder. Now that’s certainly one way to wear “something blue.”
