Brush up on your Español! It’s officially resort season, and we’re introducing a semi-new destination in Mexico for a relaxing and calming West Coast weekend getaway or a bachelorette party or. . .a wedding. Todos Santos borders the Pacific Ocean on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, backed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range. Surfers already know the spot, known for its popular swells, and we’ve already covered one wedding here, but let us take you through what your nuptials could look like in this up-and-coming locale—did we mention it’s experiencing temperatures in the high 70s, low 80s right now? Need we say more?
When to Go and How to Get There
Right now is the best time to visit Todos Santos (the “on” season is officially December through June)…which means a winter wedding in Mexico will most likely be attractive to your guests. From a budget perspective, they can combine your wedding into their little winter getaway; from a scheduling point of view, cooler months will be less filled with competing invites…not that anyone would ever skip your trip down the aisle!
There’s no major airport for the town, but fly into San José del Cabo Los Cabos Airport and take a peaceful and scenic hour-long drive to your hotel.
Where to Stay
Unlike Cabo, with its seemingly endless stretch of huge all-inclusive stays, we’re leading you somewhere more intimate. You’ve definitely seen Paradero Todos Santos on Instagram or TikTok before, and we’re here to tell you it’s worth the hype. Short & Suite CEO Reidie MacDonald got married here in 2022—they were actually the first people to stay at the newly opened hotel.
With the same brutalist style as an Aman, this property boasts immersive spaces in a lush, oasis-like setting that promotes wellness and an appreciation for nature. Paradero features 35 suites, so you can easily book out the entire hotel for a destination wedding weekend.
The rooms themselves are luxurious yet down-to-earth. An added detail we love: the room keys are bracelets, so it’s pretty hard to lose them, even after the after-party! At night, because the bathrooms aren’t connected to the bedrooms (but are still fully private), it’s a fun opportunity to take a relaxing beat outside and do some passive star-gazing. Many suites have netted lounge areas where you can sit suspended one floor up, ideal for taking in a sunset or reminiscing about your perfect day.

And we cannot stress enough how delicious the food is. With an open kitchen and an indoor-outdoor design, the dining experience is energetic and fresh. The tuna tostada will be a daily must-have, and the crab tacos will live in your head rent-free for months after. There are also great options for those who are vegan and vegetarian or have dietary restrictions.
What to Do
During the day, you can organize activities through Paradero for your group like a beach day, fitness classes, art walk, farming lesson, scenic hike or bike ride, meditation, surf session, spa day, or pool party—the possibilities are endless. Don’t underestimate the yoga instructor—she will bring out a warrior three pose on the first go. You’ve been warned.
It’s also worth it to take a drive to the old part of town and wander the cobblestone streets, taking in the art and history. In 2006, the Mexican government designated Todos Santos a Pueblo Mágico—honored for its cultural richness.
Our Hot Tip: Come a few days before the wedding weekend starts or stay a few days after saying I do and take the Paradero Catamaran out beach hopping for a night or two. Fully serviced with a captain, deck crew, and a private chef, it’s a romantic and luxe way to start newlywed life.
What to Pack
