You know the girl: she prefers the sound of a crackling cottage fire to the “unce unce unce” of a nightclub, swaps Agent Provocateur for vintage Laura Ashley, and chooses wicker over lucite any day. The first time we heard the term “grandmillennial” was in House Beautiful’s viral article by Emma Bazilain—even though it feels like we’ve been living it for years! According to Bazilain, grandmillenials range in age from mid-20s to late-30s and have an antiquated taste that is genuinely not ironic. She likes things that are bucolic, beautiful, and “have a story” to them. Don’t get us wrong, the grandmillennial girl has a great time, and she’ll be out on the town just as much as the next gal . . . that is until precisely 10:00 P.M., at which point she’s comfortably tucked in beneath some fabulous sheets, a quilt, and maybe even a weighted blanket. Under a canopy, of course.
We love this girl, and this girl loves presents! So much so, that Charleston-based blogger of Rhyme & Reason (a.k.a. Jillian Eversole) did a grandmillenial-inspired gift guide just last week. We were so taken by it we asked her if we could do the same with our own favorite grandmillennial gifts. Here, we’ve rounded up the ultimate shopping guide for those who appreciate the splendors of comfort, the joys of a faded floral print, and the satisfaction that comes with finding the perfect scalloped anything. Maybe she wants to get lost in the whimsy of Lisa Fine’s new book, Near & Far. Or set a fab holiday table with Angela Wickstead’s embroidered linens and Rebecca Gardner’s peppermint tapers from Cortland & Co. Either way, you know she’ll write you a timely thank you note in cursive!
