The St. Regis Atlanta has been called “The Best Address In The City,” and Over The Moon was thrilled to help them deck the halls this holiday season. Collaborating on the beloved twenty-foot Christmas tree in the hotel’s lobby was a no brainer. It was, after all, the perfect opportunity to showcase the exclusive Over The Moon x Riley Sheehey ornament collection—and in grand fashion. For those who don’t know, Sheehey is a watercolor and multimedia artist based in Falls Church, VA, with a highly engaged social media following. Her hand-painted ornaments have traditionally been offered in very small batches online and have always sold out instantaneously. This collaboration with Over The Moon marks the first time the ornaments have been produced in higher quantities and, thanks to The St. Regis, put on public display.
Over the years, The Nutcracker has been a timeless source of inspiration for both Sheehey and Over The Moon, so it was a natural theme to explore once they decided to create something special for the holidays, and one that felt fitting for The St. Regis’s elegant lobby space.
Alongside ornaments evoking the whimsical holiday classic, the tree also features ornaments by Issy Granger, Joanna Buchanan, and vintage ribbons throughout. The result is simply majestic—and sure to inspire a little holiday spirit in even the most committed grinch.
Sabering a bottle of champagne set the celebratory scene for the tree lighting on Friday, November 24, and Over The Moon founder, Alexandra Macon, was even able to sneak in a few family photos with her children and their cousins. If you’re in the Atlanta area during the holidays, be sure to drop in and do the same and tag us so we can re-post.
To complement the tree, The St. Regis also welcomes The Astor Chalet for a second year. Through December 24th, the cozy, Swiss-inspired chalet, designed by Keith Summerour and built with reclaimed hardwoods, features a magical Christmas pop-up shop from Buckhead’s celebrated Lucy’s Market.
It’s a truly festive destination for the entire family. Though, fair warning, you may find yourself humming Tchaikovsky for weeks to come.
