Madeline Eve Minnich, fashion blogger of Macarons and Madelines, and Dr. Evan Alexander Yanni were introduced by her future maid of honor, Isabel Kellman. She mentioned to Madeline that the two could possibly be soulmates, and when they met in New York City, they instantly hit it off. He was attending medical school in Philadelphia at the time, so he spent every weekend in New York and moved to be with Madeline after graduation. After dating for two years, he proposed on a sunset beach walk in The Bahamas. “I literally do not remember one word he said during the proposal,” Madeline remembers. “I was in such shock!”

The bride-to-be had always dreamed of getting married in a garden wedding, and they chose to host the event near her hometown of Washington, D.C. Her step-father suggested checking out Oxon Hill Manor, in Maryland, and as soon as she saw the gardens, she knew it was perfect. “Between the flowers, fountains, and cupid statue, it was enchanting,” Madeline says. To help bring their big day to life, they hired Kim Newton of Kim Newton Weddings.

Madeline fell in love with her strapless, floral Mira Zwillinger gown the first time she tried it on. She completed the elegant look with Jimmy Choo stilettos and crystal drop earrings. And for the second half of the evening, the bride changed into a strapless Monique Lhuillier dress. Her bridesmaids all looked beautiful in blush pink Hayley Paige dresses with crystal straps.

On June 10th, 2018, in the gardens under a floral arch, the couple said their vows. “After the initial jitters of the morning, all we saw was each other and never felt more certain about anything in our lives,” Madeline says. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and were rejoined by the happy couple at the beginning of the reception.

The meal, catered by Purple Onion Catering, took place in the garden under a white tent, decorated with with chandeliers and romantic string lights. After dinner, DJ Andrew Logan got the party started on the dance floor, and the bride impressively stayed in her stilettos throughout the evening. The couple had their first dance to Is This Love by Bob Marley, and then, Madeline threw her bouquet to her girls, and her close friend and Looks Like Linds blogger, Lindsay Solmer, caught the bouquet.

To make their getaway, the newlyweds hopped into a vintage white Rolls-Royce, and the party continued for some guests at bars in Old Town.
