After much speculation as to whether or not she would go it alone, Kensington Palace has released a statement saying that Prince Charles will walk Ms. Meghan Markle down the aisle. Markle’s father stepped down from the duty after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week as well as causing drama by colluding with paparazzi to stage photographs of him preparing for the wedding of the year. The father of the bride has since decided to stay in Mexico to avoid any future embarrassment for his daughter or the royal family.

While Meghan will enter the church flanked only by her bridesmaids and pageboys, the press release from Kensington Palace read: “Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St. George’s Chapel on her wedding day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the royal Family in this way.”
