Obsess COO Andee Olson Ruprecht and Broad Arrow Group partner & VP of auctions Barney Ruprecht welcomed their first child—a beautiful baby girl named Elsie—at the end of January. Since Andee made a Dream Wedding Registry for us in 2022, it was only natural that we returned to the source a Dream Baby Registry feature!
Elsie’s adorable name comes from a familial name on both Andee’s mom and dad’s sides of the family. And like her name, Elsie’s wardrobe and nursery are significantly influenced by her parents and their interests. For the little one’s first-ever room, Andee leaned into her own favorite color: green! “And for her wardrobe, it’s a lot of neutrals, plus I realized I purchased a ton of stripes!” the new mama exclaims. “Then, as my husband’s name is Barney, we have a few dinosaur nods as well as cars, since he sells classic cars!”
“I could choose anything from Over The Moon and be absolutely thrilled, but as I was going through, I was trying to think about things I either wouldn’t mind looking at every single day or things that I can get a lot of use out of,” Andee says of curating her Dream Baby Registry. “Certain brands are a no-brainer; I love all Oso & Me products, and Olli Ella makes the cutest baskets and toys!” For practicality, the new mom especially gravitated toward the SNOO and all Béaba items.
Andee leaves us key with advice for parents-to-be making their Over The Moon Baby Registries for the first time: “I will share the advice that everyone also told me—wait to see what people will give you before making any major purchases! There is a lot of pressure to get it all right away and the nesting mentality is definitely real, but patience can and is a wonderful thing! I am so lucky to have four nieces and nephews as well as at least 50 kids between my friends, so I had a few things handed down to me and then was given many fun and practical gifts for our little girl. These are things that these moms have tried and put to the test and are now passing on or gifting to me, and I am so grateful!”
“At first, I used my registry as an inspiration list with everything on it, and then as things were given to us, I adjusted accordingly. In the final few months, I was then able to supplement what I still felt I needed on my own! I know I will not need a high chair for a few months, and so I am waiting to purchase that item that was gifted until it is necessary!”
