What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.
Lindsey Berns, the founder of her namesake one-of-a-kind womenswear and children’s label, just dropped new styles on Over The Moon—perfect for sending your little one to school or a special occasion in. To celebrate, Lindsey is sharing her Dream Registry, inspired by a Sunday garden brunch. “I wanted to incorporate my children’s designs with tabletop designs, connecting fashion to food,” she shares. “On the menu is challah French toast with caramelized bananas, a smoked salmon grazing board with potato pancakes—a playful twist on lox ‘n’ bagels—yogurt & berry parfaits, bowls of fresh figs, peach bellinis and cappuccinos.”
The Chicago-based designer describes her aesthetic as “warm, relaxed, clean-lined, stylish, serene, elegant, light, nonchalant, natural, and flower-filled” and approaches decorating her vintage loft in the same way she creates her collections. “It’s all one big art project to me, and I love doing it.” When extra interior design inspiration is needed, Lindsey turns to her favorite interior design books, like Calder at Home and New York Living by Lisa Lovatt-Smith. Take a look at the mood boards below to get a better sense of Lindsey’s style:
For Lindsey’s Dream Registry, she was particularly drawn to our selection of handmade textiles, pottery, plates, and baskets. “Furthermore, I love all things blue and white. Setting a table in a palette of blue and white feels casual, cool, and effortless—the entertaining equivalent to wearing a pair of vintage Levi’s and a perfect white tee,” she shares. “I had so much fun mix and matching a plethora of pieces as the backdrop to brunch.”
As Lindsey put potato pancakes on her brunch menu—and her role as the designated potato pancake expert in her family—she dedicated pieces solely to making the delicious dish. “Woven blue napkins to squeeze out all the excess liquid in the grated potatoes—this step is key!—large pans to fry to a crisp golden brown, wire racks to transfer, cool, and sprinkle with course ground sea salt, and an oversized serving platter to pile them up high,” Lindsey lists out. “I love the delft blue woven braided detail on this Juliska one.”
The dress code for this occasion? Lindsey Berns children’s dresses for the little ones, of course! “I design with heart and put everything into creating beautiful, unique, and timeless looks for children that resist the ebb and tide of trends,” the founder shares. “The easy shapes, beautiful fabrics, artful touches, and refined styles provide versatility and wearability—equally cute worn barefoot in the backyard as they are elegant to walk down the aisle.”
