Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2019 Bridal Collection Includes a Dress Made for Meghan Markle

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Bridal fashion week is in full swing! Up first: Monique Lhuillier’s dreamy new collection, presented at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel in New York. The designer’s latest ten looks include all of the Lhuillier signatures: delicate lace, feminine silhouettes, and full skirts. But this time around, Lhuillier also went outside of her comfort zone and focused on offering new shapes, like a silk crepe column gown with full sleeves that had an air of Wallis Simpson, or a strapless point d’esprit dress with a geometric neckline. Of course, we fell in love with the last look, a long-sleeved, lace ball gown with a plunging neckline and open back, which was created with one very specific woman in mind: Meghan Markle. “If I were to be commissioned to do Meghan’s dress, this is what I would envision,” Lhuillier told Vogue. “You wouldn’t be able to miss her.” No wonder she called the look “The Majesty.”
