Reem Acra Spring 2020 Bridal

By Patricia Garcia

Reem Acra set the tone for her spring 2020 runway show at New York’s St. Bartholomew’s Church right off the bat by opening with a sweet, pink flower girl dress with the words “Keep Dreaming” written in gems across the front. As usual, Acra’s intricate, couture-level embellishment was on display once again, in the delicate lace and tulle gowns embroidered with lighter than air florals, and in the sexier, strategically beaded strapless and mini dresses for the more daring brides out there. Plenty of attention was given to the veils in her collection, too. Some were affixed with tiny tiaras at the top of model’s heads (which gave us major Victoria Beckham wedding vibes), others were made of tulle bunched around the face in what could be considered a new version of a bridal crown, while others came down the runway in unexpected colors including pink, navy blue, tan, and ombre shades. Leave it to Acra to prove that veils—typically treated as an after-thought—can be just as versatile as any other wedding accessory.
