A Jeopardy Contestant Proposed To His Girlfriend In the Middle of The Show

Public proposals are nothing new. There are those who choose to pop the big question at a sports game, or at a crowded restaurant (like Justin Bieber did to Hailey Baldwin in the Bahamas), or at a big awards show, as we recently saw at the Emmys. But yesterday, we saw a brand new approach to the televised proposal, when a contestant on Jeopardy kicked off the game show by asking his girlfriend to marry him.

When it was time for host Alex Trebek to introduce contestant Michael Pascuzzi, he was at a loss because the contestant hadn’t provided any information about himself for the short intro. “So what do you want to talk about?” Trebek asked, and that’s when Pascuzzi replied: “I just want to say one quick thing and ask Maria Shaffer if she would make me a winner today and marry me?” The audience responded with loud applause, while the future bride responded with a classic Jeopardy answer: “That would be: What is yes?” Watch the cute proposal below.
