What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

Over The Moon’s very own Maddie Bush recently became a bride on October 28, 2023, at the Gulf Stream Golf Club in Florida and expertly used an OTM Registry for her wedding. Below, she’s sharing some of her favorite pieces and what makes them so special to her.

Maddie who is also the mastermind behind the Instagram account @gemsiloved, describes her aesthetic as “classic and refined but fun and unexpected at the same time.” She goes on to say, “I like to mix things from different time periods, materials, textures, and styles, but I’ve found that if you truly buy things you love, they all go together well—starting with a neutral base and adding in color, personality, and drama from there. I also love unexpected pieces, things that might be a little out of the ordinary.”

For inspiration, Maddie looks to tastemakers Charlotte Lucas, Jake Arnold, and Alexandra Kaehler. “I find a ton of inspiration through Instagram and Architectural Digest. I still read hard copies of AD—I can’t get enough!” she exclaims.

Since Maddie and her hubby, Mike, have lived together since 2020, they’ve had time to refine how they mix their aesthetics together in their interior spaces. “My husband is a bit more modern and sleek with his taste,” she explains. “We’ve found a mutual love for earthy elements like our wood block coffee table, hand-carved wooden accent bowls, unexpected lighting, and custom art over the years. He and I both agreed that we wanted to ask for nice place settings on our registry, as that’s not something we would invest in on our own, but we both love to entertain in our home. We may have over-registered for plates, but I love that there are many different types of settings we can pull out for various occasions and loved Over The Moon’s selection!”

One of the first items the two added to their Over The Moon Registry was the set of Matouk Wave Cocktail Napkins. “They bring a bit of luxury to hosting friends and add a playful element to cocktail or dinner parties,” Maddie insists.

The Berard Wood Utensil Holder also immediately caught their attention because of its craftsmanship and unique design. “It’s a practical addition, but it also feels like a nice indulgence—something we wouldn’t typically buy for ourselves but is now an essential part of our kitchen,” Maddie shares. A must-have for her were also the Scalloped Appetizer Plates by Aerin. “I had my eye on them for months before adding them to our registry. The intricate scallop detail, coupled with the ideal size and weight, makes them such a fabulous addition. We’ve found them so easy for appetizers and dessert, and I love everything Aerin creates.”

Maddie and Mike leave us with key advice for couples currently making their Over The Moon Registries: “Our biggest tip is to start the process together. Coming to a consensus on what you want and need rather than just adding any and everything was really crucial for us. Our registry picks have become more than just gifts, they reflect our shared sense of style. Each time we use one of them, it’s such a nice reminder of our collaboration and a small yet meaningful way that these pieces bring us together.”
