What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.
Chef, food stylist, and bride-to-be Ashton Keefe is in the process of planning her and her fiancé Cabell Rosanelli’s 2023 wedding. “As someone in hospitality, my mind loves to create and produce events; we may opt to create a few mini celebrations, where we can celebrate with loved ones and express sides of our personality and creativity,” she shares. “We’re thinking of a small intimate ceremony—perhaps elopement!—for early 2023 and then having a larger celebration with family and friends this June in Charleston.”
The New York City–based chef describes her aesthetic as “classic, feminine, and slightly whimsical.” Most of her inspiration comes from meaningful places and people. “I love the designs of Basic Projects; everything Kate and Ben Towill touch is full of both depth and lightness. One of my closest friends Staver Gray, of Ward & Grey, recently designed the new Auberge Wildflower Farms, and I’m constantly learning and growing in her presence,” Ashton says. “I’m from New Jersey, but perhaps there’s a little Southern in my style—Cabell is from Richmond, a Virginian at heart! I’m also a huge fan of Matthew Carter and Jaimie and John Dewberry.”
For her Dream Registry (and real Over The Moon Registry), Ashton had to add her number-one Dutch oven from Le Creuset. “I tend to prefer the oval shape versus the round,” she explains. “You can use this pan on the stove, in the oven, when searing, braising, roasting, you name it. I use mine daily.”
Once dinner is on the table, Ashton underscores the importance of ambiance lighting—”always candlelit, if possible.” “I make sure I have a ton of these on hand at all times—even if it’s just dinner for two!” the chef exclaims.
Ashton leaves us with sage advice for couples making their registries for the first time: “Make sure you do it together. It’s a fun process that can get you excited about the wedding. I think it’s also really important to mix need-to-haves with wish list items. It’s great to have something you need daily, but it’s also fun to dream and ask for items you might never buy yourself. After all, it’s your wedding.”
