Viktor&Rolf Bridal Fall 2020

By Shayna Seid

For the Autumn/Winter 2020 season, Viktor&Rolf presented their “Mariage” collection as a surreal winter garden with classic bridal elements and seasonal floral embellishments. The label focused on reimagining tweed and traditional lace into frosted embroideries and crystal patterns, emulating crisp snowflakes. The last look with a “tweed” crop top and full skirt is such a gorgeous combo and so versatile for rehearsal dinners and receptions. Wisteria vines and wild roses were also strong motifs in the designs for this collection. The strapless jumpsuit with a rose at the neckline is romantic and incredibly modern at the same time. And what would Viktor&Rolf be without a little (or a lot of) drama? The Diana Dream—the theatrical taffeta gown with a plunging V-neck constructed in petticoat style—is this season’s standout piece. Featuring an open-back, signature bow, and train, it’s all about extravagance. But don’t worry, if you’re not going for that level of a “look at me!” moment, there are still plenty of more subtle choices in this collection.
